The Dune: Going, Going, Gone undersøger den menneskelige interaktion med naturen i et område, hvor kystsikring, diger og læbælter er menneskeskabte levn, der vidner om kampen mod ukontrollerbare transformationer af vores landskab og liv.
Emilie Bausagers nyproducerede skulpturer undersøger grænsefeltet mellem det naturlige og det menneskeskabte i lyset af samtidens fortællinger, turisme og varegørelse af natur og omgivelser. Feline Hjerminds nyproducerede videoinstallation undersøger hverdagens øjeblikke og omgivelser, og transformerer dem til flygtige grafiske sekvenser, der afslører gemte mønstre, bevægelser og perspektiver i disse velkendte situationer og landskaber.
The Dune: Going, Going, Gone stiller spørgsmål til vores relation til naturen og sætter dermed fokus på paradokset mellem menneskets evindelige forsøg på at kontrollere naturens kræfter og opstille faste grænser (for at beskytte os selv), samtidig med at vi er fascinerede af og romantiserer naturen som idé, æstetisk rum og tilholdssted.
The Dune: Going, Going, Gone vises i Skagen og er skabt med udgangspunkt i sandflugten i Vendsyssel og attraktioner som Råbjerg Mile og Den Tilsandede Kirke.
Emilie Bausager (f. 1992), uddannet fra Det Kongelige Danske Kunstakademi og The English Gardening School. Bor og arbejder i København og London. Bausagers kunstneriske praksis fokuserer på det naturlige og det menneskabte i landskabet.
Feline Hjermind (f. 1993), uddannet fra Gerrit Rietveld Academie, Amsterdam. Bor og arbejder i Amsterdam. Hjermind forvrænger, bøjer og omformer velkendte billeder og skaber nye fortællinger i hendes videoværker, hvor vores sociale normer og koder er til konstant forhandling.

The Dune: Going, Going, Gone seeks to investigate the human interaction with nature in an area where coastal protection, windbreaks, and dykes are human remains of a continuous battle with nature's uncontrollable transformations of landscape and life. Emilie Bausager examines the borders between what is real nature and what is man-made landscape in light of the contemporary conditions concerning romanticized narratives, tourism, and commercialization of nature and natural sites.
Feline Hjermind’s newly produced video installation examines our everyday moments and landscapes and transforms them into graphic moving images. They reveal hidden patterns, movements, and perspectives of these well-known situations and landscapes.
The exhibition questions the human connection to nature as a phenomenon and thereby shines light upon the paradox between man’s eternal trials to control the natural forces and his fascination and romantic idea of nature as an aesthetic space and refuge.
The Dune: Going, Going, Gone is exhibited in Skagen and is created with inspiration from the drifting sand in Vendsyssel and sights such as Råbjerg Mile and the Sand Buried Church.
Emilie Bausager (b. 1992), graduate of The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and The English Gardening School. She lives and works in Copenhagen and London. In her praxis she seeks to unfold the borders between natural and man-made landscapes and our human perception of what nature is.
Feline Hjermind b. 1993), graduate of Gerrit Rietveld Academie, Amsterdam. She lives and works in Amsterdam. Hjermind distorts, bends, and morphs images in her video installations to assemble new narratives, where conventional norms and coded behaviours are up for negotiation.
